Baking Soda Recipe for Weight Loss: What the Viral Drink Really Does
A spoon of baking soda in water is not a fat burner. Here is the safe way to make the viral drink, what the research and the official sources say, what the famous names really show, and who should skip it.
Ingredients
- 1/4 tspfood-grade baking soda, measured level
- 1 cuproom-temperature water, 8 fl oz (240 ml)
Instructions
- Pour the water. Pour the water into a tall glass.

- Add the baking soda. Add the baking soda and stir until the powder has fully dissolved and the fizz has settled.

- Drink it slowly. Drink it slowly, not on a very full stomach, and not for more than 2 weeks in a row unless your doctor tells you to.

Notes
- Do not take it at the same time as other medicines: MedlinePlus says to take sodium bicarbonate at least 2 hours apart from them.
- Skip it if you have high blood pressure, heart failure, kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or follow a low-sodium diet, and check with your doctor first.
